Studies of the molecular level interactions of antimicrobial peptides with cellular membranes. I have worked essentially with spectroscopic techniques (UV/Vis Fluorescence and Absorbance) coupled to mathematical modelling to intercept experimental data. A move to the Institute of Molecular Medicin (University of Lisbon) has driven my research to make use of more biological methodologies on mammalian and bacterial cell viability to study the same peptides.
